Join us for the 15^th Annual Master & Signature Member Show and National Juried Competition Exhibition.  Southwest Art Magazine notes this annual show features "women of distinction" in a celebration of their finest work.

Both oil and pastel accepted.

This workshop is geared toward the student who wishes to take their landscape studio work to the next level.  Creating fresh, quick studies outdoors and using those in the studio, will remind you of the light, atmosphere and excitement of the outdoor experience while also using reference photos to help remember the details.
 
In this workshop, we will paint several small studies outdoors either on the first day or over two mornings.  We will then move into the studio to create studio pieces from our studies.  To aid in the studio work, please bring a digital camera to take photos of your first day's locations.  Each student will be responsible for getting the reference photos printed for day two.  You are also encouraged to bring other photos that may be helpful in composing a studio piece such as interesting skies, backgrounds, etc. or if weather does not permit us to go outdoors.
 
When outdoors and in the studio, we will break down the landscape into: line, shape, value, temperature of color, intensity of color, and quality of mark (texture). It’s important to understand each aspect and look at the landscape in this order BEFORE diving in!  To aid in this, we will use both value sketches and color studies of the composition.  Kim will offer demos and lots of individual attention at the easel.

This event benefits the Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek, WI.  Artists paint on location through out the area July 17-23.  Paintings go on sale Friday, July 22.  Exhibit continues through August 13.
